HIKE

With your home-away-from-home located on Scotty Lake, you can hike quite literally right in your backyard. In winter, grab our complimentary snowshoes and trekking poles provided for our guests and take a stroll across the surface of the frozen lake. In summer, enjoy lakeside trails on-property.

The border of Denali State Park is just about 17 miles north of the property—with endless trails, as you can imagine! Some of our local favorites are Curry Ridge Trail, Denali Viewpoint South, Cascade Lake Trail and Byers Lake Loop. The drive further north to Denali National Park and Preserve has gorgeous views of Denali. There are few marked trails once in the expanse of the National Park: see the NPS website for further info and current conditions, and let us know if you have any questions!

The town of Talkeetna is about a 30 minute drive away. We highly recommend dropping the town a visit for classic Alaskan food, drinks and small-town experience! As for hiking, Talkeetna Lake Trail, Otter Loop and Talkeetna River Trail to Chase Trail are all moderate options.
